Here we go! A new semester is starting here 1/27. That means I have a new batch of students. Again, seniors might be easy for collaboration based on maturity. However, I have two frosh sections as well.
Thoughts about how we can connect? What would be easiest (apparently that is my theme for my 1st year in high school!).

Thanks for the nice words. I see you're teaching a class on blogging. Though I haven't looked very hard, there doesn't seem to be a lot of empirical research on blogging - just a lot of opinions. I agree that it is a great tool for the classroom, but haven't heard of any great studies on it. Have you found any good sources/studies?

Sketchcast is a great tool to record what you're writing/drawing. Here's an example. It's easy to embed your sketchcasts and you can voice along with it. There are a bunch more that I've posted on my classroom blog. A similar app is sketchfu, but the site seems to be down a lot. Both work best with a sketchpad.

When you got to You Tube or TeacherTube and select a video, you will see am "embed code." Copy this and then paste it onto your Blogspot page.

When you are working on a post in Blogspot, you select the "HTML" option, then paste in the code.

When you choose a story from the On the Media site, you are given a bunch of options (listen, download, for example). One of them is "Embed HTML." When you click on it, you get a snippet of code which you paste into you website (blog in my case) when editing it.
