After 35 years in education, I have retired but intend to stay actively involved in some capacity. I spent the last 7 years working for charter schools coordinating assessments, making data-based decisions about curriculum, and design staff development opportunities. I managed the Title applications and budgets and started a Response to Intervention initiative. I've also taught college literacy courses and conducted workshops sponsored by Staff Development for Educators

Hi Nancy. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
Hi Nancy. Though I've never taught any Hmong learners, I was an ESL teacher for several years before moving into my current job (foreign language teacher) and among our other groups we've dealt with a lot of indigenous Mexicans whose first languages were Otomi and Mixteco, so we went through similar problems and were unable to find literate folks in these languages to help tutor our students. I do wonder if those kids, and your Hmong kids, might be well-served by a distance learning literacy program taught by native speakers with education backgrounds. I wanted to share some resources I found about Hmong literacy:
