- I am a wife, mother, teacher, daugher, and aunt. I teach English and English as a Second Language at Newberry High School. I have two sons, one a sophomore at Newberry College and another who is a sophomore at Mid-Carolina High School. I am a National Board Certified teacher and am currently seeking a second National Board certificate in the area of English as a New Language. I have been teaching since 1980 at the high school and college levels. I have a master's degree in English with graduate hours in English beyond the masters. The University of South Carolina would not let me bind my newborn son and submit him as my dissertation 19 years ago!
