About Me
I have a background in educational and documentary film making and I want to use this to build community amongst children everywhere in the world. I am very interested in the plight of children in northern Africa in places like Darfur, Eritrea, Chad, and Somalia, and I support the efforts of Oxfam, CARE, and WorldVision to address this.
I'd love to explore collaborating with all Classroom 2.0 members!

Pendera,
I noted you were from Oxford. I'm not sure but I think that is where the Mini Cooper I bought a few back was built. I love that lil' car, ha.
It would seem there a LOT of social networks anymore. I wonder if one can keep up with all of them. I have kids on facebook, myspace, other friends on ning, Moodle, iChat, Skype, Yahoo and MSN... Wow... Talk about needing to multitask! ;-)

So pleased to meet you, Pendera! I am in California, and have been posting video & audio podcasts teaching about musicology, music theory, and music history. (All free teaching resources for any 2.0 music educators out there.)

Are you familiar with Global Giving? We've been doing a lot of work with them as well, and they are on a similar path as Oxfam in embracing technology to make substantive, profound change.

Hi, Pendera. I am in the heartland of the United States, Iowa! I work with many school districts, helping teachers learn to use technology with their students and working alongside them as their students work on technology projects. Video is the way our students today want to communicate - and they want to communicate about what's relevant in the world today - like you are getting the word out about northern Africa. Perhaps you can post some of your videos here on Classroom 2.0 and we can do the same - many of my districts block YouTube so kids can't post there. TeacherTube seems to be a good alternative too. Look forward to collaborating with you.
