About Me: My name is Rachel Strode. I am pursuing my masters in Elementary Education. I am first obtaining my teaching certification while taking some grad classes. I am also planning on getting certified in Early Childhood Education. I currently have my BA degree in Business Management.

I was born and raised in St. Louis. I am married with four children- Trinity (14), Maximus (6), Roman (5), and Nevaeh (3). I am very much into health and fitness and I love the outdoors. Exercising is how I relieve my stress and get time to myself.

I have always known that I wanted to teach. I absolutely love children and love to see them prosper. When my oldest daughter started preschool, I knew with all my heart teaching is what I wanted to do. I found myself volunteering for all of her school functions and realized how much I love being with the students. I actually was going to school to become at teacher previously before obtaining my BA degree, but I realized I wouldn’t have been able to finish. I was a single mother at the time, so I couldn’t student teach with a full-time job. Obtaining my BA degree online allowed me to work full-time and go to school. Now I am in a better position to where I can fulfill my dream to become an Elementary teacher. I am not positive of what grade I would like to teach. I really think I will love any grade from Pre-K to 6th grade.

My goal for this class is to prepare me further for teaching. I know it is very important to use technology in your classroom to help assist comprehension and maintain interest of my students. I hope to learn how to use technology daily to help my students become more successful. I look forward to working with all of you.
