ICE conference

So excited about the ICE conference that I just attended. I have so many ideas spinning around in my head that I can't even focus.... I want to use Scratch right away... http://scratch.mit.edu/
What a great tool that not only introduces students to gaming but to collaboration and open source as well!

So, I've never blogged before!!! I'm experiencing it for the first time, and it's so exciting. I'm not sure what to even write about except that I'm hoping to share and gain some insights for others in engaging students and providing them with opportunities through technology use that they may not have otherwise.... I can't wait to see what I can learn!

Hi Teri. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

It sounds like an ideal set-up for the students. I'll share a few of my favorite sites with you: http://www.starfall.com http://www.roythezebra.com http://www.sitesalive.com and scratch at MIT.

Teri,
I really do see power in SL, form a professional development side. Right now it is very difficult to work with students in this environment due to the restrictions the Linden's have put on the teen and the maure grid. There are a number of people working to change this, but it is not ready yet. At the middle school level have you looked at Google Sketch-up for 3-D modeling, now that is cool!

Teri,
You a so lucky to have Dan Maranda as a Superintendent! I have known him for years and he really has a vision for the future. You have such an opportunity to use technology to conect in a variety of ways. I look forward to collaborating with you. Form a group I am bringing a new tech camp for educators to Ottawa IL this summer, June 9-13, 3 credit hours from Aurora University, class through the ROE, awesome class taught last year on this NING platform, let me know if you need more information. Log into Ning and search for tech camp for educators, you would love the class! Thanks for connecting, let's collaborate on great things!

Hi Teri, I work as a technology teacher in a small private school. I'll be curious to know more about your technology program.
