I'm reminded again today how much I love the first day of summer. Not that I get a summer break - as the technology coordinator, the summer is when I do all the maintenance work that I don't get to during the school year. No, what I feel on the first day of summer break is the release of the pressure valve. (Do you hear the hissing?) A brief respite from deadlines, the idea that time is my friend rather than my enemy.
