About Me

My philosophy of Instructional Media is that it is the technology used to deliver instruction to cause a change in learning while incorporating media and design in the learning environment or the learner. I believe Instructional Technology is a key aspect of Instructional Media encompasses all the educational technology needed.As I am a teacher this comes into play in the planning of lessons for my classes and delivering instruction.



I am a Mathematics and Information Technology teacher and Instructional designer from Barbados.I have over fifteen years experience teaching in Secondary Schools and to adults at Graydon Sealy Secondary School.I also over four years Instructional Design experience.



I have experience working with SMEs to identify what students need to learn, developing objectives, revising and restructuring content and activities for student learning, creating media to support learning, developing assessments and adapting instructional materials created for face-to-face to an E-learning format.



After being an educator for many years in the area Information Technology and Mathematics for Secondary School and continuing education, I felt just creating lesson plans and face to face classroom teaching/training was not reaching the students' needs and solving the varied educational problems that presented themselves. There was more needed to the process, the incorporation of technology, different learning environments and different ways the learner can learn. I yearned to be engaged in the theory and practice of education of adults incorporating the principles of effective multimedia learning using educational technology. This lead me to pursue Instructional Design with core interests of Andragogy and E-Learning.



I love creating, developing and advising on the tools and resources needed to provide knowledge and learning .I’m very curious about creatively bringing technology and instruction together.I strive for growth in my communication skills and the broadening of my horizons of ID, building on whatever knowledge I have of Instructional Design to enhance my written, trainer and designer skills.
