Bar Yochai - A Northern Israeli Settlement During the Second Lebanon War

An example of High School Citizen Journalism.
Three ninth grade students at Neveh Chana High School in the Etzion Bloc , Israel produced a film on the thoughts and feelings of members of Bar Yochai, a village in the Mount Meron region of Israel. The film tells about the damage wreaked on the village by rockets fired from Lebanon during the Second Lebanon War.

Hi Debbie,
This project was entirely conceived and carried out by the students. We were to have a Tu Bishvat videoconference with the BA Ulpana in Toronto. Our students decided that they wanted to produce this video for their presentation. They "went on location" in the Galilee and produced this with only minimal help and support from me. It was a great experience for them, their classmates and our partners in Toronto.

Nice work - I'm sure this was a very rewarding experience for your students.

This is so much more interesting than an essay and I'm sure that your students enjoyed the process much more, as well. I'm hoping to do a workshop on using web 2.0 technology for teachers at my school and I'd like to show them this, if it's o.k. with you.

By the way, my daughter was on an AISH/Hasbara trip this summer and they took her up north to try and help out.
