Prevent cyberbullying through education and awareness. Parents, guardians, and educators, have an open discussion with your kids about cyberbullying before it happens. Maintain an open dialogue with your own kids and keep up with their social lives, along with Internet risks and developments.

His father, John P. Halligan, an IBM engineer, subsequently lobbied for laws to be passed in Vermont to improve how schools address bullying and suicide prevention.
