This is an example of a book review I do with my 3rd and 4th grade. I choose a "Hot Dog" for the week and have them write a review of one of the books they read. We animate it and use it on our Glog page for other students to see it. This protects their identity online.

Hi Grace, thanks for the comment. To do my book reviews I use a combination of programs. I use Crazy Talk for basic animation, Photoshop for transparencies, and edit sound and backgronds with Vegas Video. There are other ways to accomplish similar animation I am sure. Some free programs that are similar might be:
http://blabberize.com/
http://www.gizmoz.com/newsite/presite/home.jsp
They are not exactly the same but if you can't get the more expensive programs they might be a good substitute. P.S. I love you idea for using them. I may have to ask my ESL teacher about that!
Let me know if I can help in any way.

I love the animation! How do you do that? Is it a program or a website that you go to? It is a wonderful way for shy children to speak. I teach Spanish speaking children and they are often reticent about speaking out loud. I would love to try this.
