Laura Vecchione - Obama Inaugural Song Inspired by Mahalia Jackson

"This song came together in a week in three different cities, RIGHT BEFORE ELECTION DAY 2008 because of people's belief in Sen. Obama and his message of renewal and the historic nature of this election. It was made by REGULAR AMERICANS of all different backgrounds and ages - NO STARS - NO BUDGET!

The song was inspired by Gospel singer, Mahalia Jackson reminding Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to Tell Them About the Dream" forty-five years to the day that Obama gave his DNC acceptance speech. That cry becomes the voice of the muse speaking to Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, King, and now Obama and ultimately us, the American people."
