This is a short video that includes a few teen mothers talking about that experience. When we've done screenings at high schools, we've noticed our documentaries really unlock a torrent of discussion.
I think that has something to do with the way they bridge the self awareness gap. That is, a lot of teens lack the self awareness to full grasp, much less describe in a group setting, the life challenges they are dealing with. But show them someone who is dealing with many of the same challenges, and they are suddenly very talkative! And insightful! It's sort of like discussion Ju Jitsu: they think they are talking about DeLena, when really they are talking about themselves!
