DEADLINE FOR MI DIARIO # 3 ENTRIES: 7 abril 2019 5pm

 

Write a two-paragraph diary entry in Spanish following the instructions below.

Your reflections will be graded according to quantity (minimum 200-250 words each) and quality of language, as well as on their content, vocabulary, and grammar. 

 

- Use the word count feature in Word to make sure you meet this requirement and the spelling/ grammar check

 

Students also have to respond to at least one (1) classmate’s entry per blog before the subsequent entry. Each response should be between 75-100 words each.

 

DEADLINE FOR THE RESPONSE TO ONE CLASSMATE'S ENTRY: Sunday, April 14 at 5 PM.

 

No assignments will be accepted after the published due date/time. 

 

Blog #3: A cultural event related to the Hispanic community

 

You must attend a cultural event related to the Hispanic community. You can attend one of the cultural events on campus, or you can go to see an exposition in a museum, etc. If you are unsure if your event is appropriate, check with the professor first.

 

For this blog, in the FIRST PARAGRAPH, you will summarize and describe the cultural event you attended. What was it about? What was the purpose of it? Where did you go? What did you see/ hear?

 

In the SECOND PARAGRAPH, you will give your reaction and opinion about the event. What did you learn? What surprised you? Why? What did you enjoy (or not) about it?

Un evento hispano cultural que yo asistí fue la procesión de Jesús Cristo. Esto es un desfile que toma lugar cada octubre en Brooklyn. Esta ocasión empieza en la iglesia, le última vez que yo fue no logre a asistir el principio (donde empieza a la iglesia), pero llegue cuando el desfile empezó. Este evento es organizado mayoridad mente por peruanos, pero cualquier persona puede asistir. En el desfile yo vi a personas cargando una estructura, con una figura grande de Jesús Cristo, varias personas cargan esto por las calles, ellos tienen puesto algo encima de ellos como en polo color purpura. Hay tiempos cuando ellos paran, y con aso también el desfile, no sé si es porque están casados o es parte del desfile, pero comienza otra vez. Este desfile ocurre hasta que regresen a la iglesia.
Cuando regresan al Jesús Cristo a la iglesia, las personas pueden entrar a la iglesia donde pueden comer comida, relativa mente peruana. Pero yo y mi familia, como otras personas ahí, fueron a las calles porque durante este evento, muchos peruanos están vendiendo y cocinando comida peruana en las calles. Hay varias comidas deliciosas que puedes comer ahí. También hay vendedores de cosas que no son comidas, como ropas. Yo me recuerdo que la última cosa que comí ahí fue picarones. A mí me gusto este evento, porque había mucha cultura peruana que yo no veo en mi vida día a día, yo llegué a los estados unidos cuando tuve 7 años, y yo creo que no tuve tanto tiempo a experienciar la cultura peruana a lo máximo, y creo que este evento si me dio una experiencia buena.
