I recently came across a few long-standing blogs that never crossed my path during my Google searches, and I was thinking that a Classroom 2.0 discussion about blog-sharing might be helpful, since we are members of "the social network for educators using collaborative technologies".

If you have a blog you'd like to share, either your own, or one that you'd recommend, post a reply with a link to the blog, the author's name, the focus of the blog, and perhaps a few words about why you find it interesting or useful.

Here are my blogs:

Interactive Multimedia Technology

I have another blog that I use to post my reflections about what I'm learning in my mid-life journey as a computer/tech student:
The World Is My Interactive Interface

(I changed the name of the blog to reflect my current topics.)

Update 6/15/10
It has been a very busy school year!  The exciting news is that one of my schools has a multi-touch SMARTTable, and every classroom has an interactive whiteboard.  The teachers worked very hard to ramp up their IWB skills and I'm amazed at how quickly this interactive technology was adopted.    Of course, interactive applications and websites are pretty awesome on a huge screen or display!    The best part is that this technology has opened up the minds of a good number of students with severe autism characteristics.

In April, I participated in a workshop at ACM's 2010 CHI conference. The topic of the workshop focused on the next generation of human-computer interaction and education.

I also joined the SparkOn group, "a social platform for people that are sparked (inspired) by creative and emergent technologies"

I'm more than a few days late, let's hope not a few dollars short. I try to keep up with blogging but often find it difficult keep up with everything at once.

Here's the link - Infinitude
Steve,

It is difficult to keep up with everything 2.0. IThose of us who didn't spend our teen and young adult years texting, IM-ing, and maintaining LiveJournal or MySpace pages are still on the learning curve, and as we adapt to new applications, more exciting ones come along and tempt us.

Then we are stuck with all sorts of doings on the web, without a good way of managing it all. I am using FaceBook to keep up with a wide range of people fairly efficiently. My extended family is spread across the globe. Facebook has been best way to keep up with nieces and nephews, who are in their teens, some of their friends who consider me to be a surrogate "aunt".

I just looked at your blog post about Diggo. I'm 1/2 Armenian, so I got your point as soon as I glanced at the post!
I'm an accounting instructor at a community college and also do some faculty development work.

I blog at http://awteachlearn.blogspot.com/ and post other teaching materials at http://faculty.edcc.edu/andy.williams/.

Welcome to Classroom 2.0, Andy, and thanks for sharing the link to your blog and website.!
Actually I can keep up with the latest and greatest fairly well. Adapting a pale version of David Allen's GTD working my lists through Remember the Milk and a Google Calendar with seven different colors I can keep my email inbox at zero most of the time.

But there is a difference between doing your work and reflecting on your work. As a department supervisor who has lost nearly half of my department to military leaves, retirement and military leaves I'm barely treading the administrative waters to help the brand-new teacher replacements and still teach to two classes. As a part-time single Dad I haven't had a chance to work on a weekend since March and four nights a week are obligated to cub scouts or little league.

I have accounts with over fifty different web tools and services and love testing them out and using them as I work and teach. Having the time to join the discussion about using them is less a priority than just using them. But summer is almost here....
The "Summer of 2.0 Reflection".

I always have lofty goals about what the summer weeks hold. Reality hits and there are mosquito bites, sunburns, and visiting relatives from out of town...

There has been so much to absorb over the past year. Educators are fortunate to have a few weeks to reflect. I have just 5 weeks off, and some of the time will be attending training sessions....

Is our class blog too "busy," too "unacademic," too anything? I have seniors in high school and I want to generate conversation. Students who are mice in the classroom can be, have been lions on our blog. Truly, I get so much more when they can all speak at once, or on their own schedules. But, despite the blog's success, I'm trying to make it better. Soon, I'll get documents on there (thanks to Gerald's help) and other helpful functions. Please take a look and offer a suggestion: scholarlynx.blogspot.com. (The lynx is our school's mascot; I've use a sort of portmanteau for our address scholarly + lynx; lynx = links...you get the picture.) Thanks a lot for anything you can advise.
Matt,

The blog looks amazing.
It will be great to see how the students interact with it, and you, and each other.

Please keep us posted.
Gerald
Gerald--At your teachingownership blog, I noticed an "On the Media" (The News Tower) bar that I could hear audio with (an NPR story about the new noises in classrooms). How did you do this? I'd like to incorporate something like it, or adopt it, please.
Matt,

If you go to the On the Media website and pick a story you want to listen to, you get the option to "Embed HTML." Just copy that code and paste it on whatever web page (blog or whatever) you want to appear, and there it will be.

Gerald
Matt,

Your blog is great, and I can see how you use visual information to compliment the verbal.

This is my very formative blog as part of my participation in a Web 2.0 program. Just experimental posting from a newbie : Brave New World
