I'm wondering if anybody is using Tag Crowd w/ their classes and if so how. It is a new web 2.0 app (still in Alpha). It's purpose is to visualize words and determine frequency.

Very great application! I am at a teacher development day and we all love it. I am attaching a pdf of the text from the I have a Dream speech in TagCrowd.

That's great I love the idea. I can really see a use for this in SS classes where they focus on historical documents, Declaration of Independence, I have a dream speech, etc.
Hi David,
I had a go at Tag crowd with interesting results. I'd tried wordle before, with no success. Tag galaxy is a lot of fun too. it uses words you nominate to collect images from Flickr to create a stunning collage sphere. I am a science and maths teacher and I suspect these tools will be more useful to English/Literacy teachers. Engaging for students in any case.
Regards, Britt Gow.
P.S. Thanks for your reply about converting Quicktime files - I'm on a PC :(
I love that Tag Galaxy site, very cool GUI and interesting user interface, thanks so much!!!
I encourage my students to use it as a writing tool to get a sense of their use of language. It is the best way to determine if they are overusing certain words.
I know someone who is using TagCrowd to analyze language used in classroom lessons as a part of a doctoral dissertation.
