We have just adapted the Envision Math Series for our school district. We will not be having any training on this series until the week before school starts. Does anybody have any insight on this series? I hear it has some really great online tools but have not had access to it.
Ruth, unfortunately, we haven't been able to find schools close to compare notes with, but It looks like there are other schools in Texas that are using Envision have some websites that might help to get started!
I haven't heard of the Envision Math Series but I checked out some of Jen's examples of websites and it really looks promising. I thought that the Math songs and the interactive math games will prove to be real engaging for the kids.
Our team got together a week or so ago just to look through everything. It is a bit overwhelming! I have seen some of the online resources, and I think they will be great. Our team really likes the centers and options for differentiated instruction. I have some documents I typed up of what we are going to do on a daily and weekly basis for it. I'm sure it is a lot different from second grade, but I'll send them to you soon!
You might go into the second grade link that I provided below to view the lessons that you will be covering first and then search Promethean Planet for interactive whiteboard lessons that you can use or tweak! I just went in and did a search on 2nd grade addition and it looks like a lot of great review promethean activities are available!
