Make sure you say "hey" and let us know a bit about yourself.

What topics are you looking to possibly collaborate on?

Are you thinking of getting students together, or getting professional discussions going? Or perhaps both...?

I'm all for people lurking a little to see if this is the place for them, but I also truly feel that we make the place what we need it to be!

This journey is ours to create--take us in new directions and new thought processes!

Hi,
We are interested in communicating with teachers and students around the country and the world using wikis and Skype (and other tools). Through planning we will identify common goals and objectives. We have had experience with projects comparing suburban, rural and urban districts in Connecticut. We have successfully communicated with a Chinese exchange teacher's 11 year old daughter in Beijing. Our 2nd grades have communicated via a wiki with classmates in the American School in Japan. We have recently begun a Skype and wiki collaboration between 3 high school history classes and their teacher and 120 middle school students and their teacher in Ghana. These interactions are engaging and promote focused oral and written communications. We want to do much more of this, and I would be interested in establishing classroom connections between other teachers interested in establishing distance learning relationships.

Hello! I am a Technology Coordinator for a great parochial school in Central New Jersey. I am thankful that there is this massive resources and support from educators like yourselves who loves to share resources and ideas to educators.

My elementary school teachers some of whom are resistant to change are getting weekly workshops from me introducing them to strategies and ways to integrate technology in their classrooms. I would love for them to tackle online collaboration once they feel comfortable with that task.

The middle school teachers are more technology-receptive. We have interactive white boards in all of the middle school classrooms and I am supporting them to use this tool.

Thanks! I am looking forward to learning more about this great site and maybe meeting some of you "online".
Hello LTshcanq and welcome to classroom20. If you look around the discusstions I am sure you will find lots to keep you and your staff interested. If you search for IWBs you will find some of the previous discussions and sharings.
My sabbatical research involves new models for collaboration in digital media instruction, project development and research. I am in the Chicago area for 2008-09 and interested in discussing ideas with other faculty, staff, professionals, etc. about cross-organizational partnerships and also how to bridge the gap between high school experiences and the work place for students interested in careers in media production.
Hola! My name is Sara and I'm a middle school Spanish teacher in Killeen, Texas. I wanted to know if there was an individual here who would consider collaborating on some video conferencing with my Spanish I classes (8th grade). Their Spanish is very limited so far, but I've introduced them to wikispaces, and would love to see some oral communication as well. My campus technologist is excited to use the new equipment our district just purchased. Anyone interested?
Hi, I'm a secondary teacher in Ontario, Canada enjoy teaching in both the traditional classroom and now teach 2 classes on-line for my public school Board. I've taught a variety of subjects including Business, Civics, Career studies, Math, Co-op education, & history. What I enjoy the most is working with technology and working with other teachers.

I'm looking for opportunities to collaborate beyond my school, and board with other teachers.
I recently started a Smart Business Education site, and invite others to contribute, collaborite.

I'm interested in finding out more about some of the ways teachers here have found ways to have students collaborate across the world.
I am a 7th and 8th grade reading teacher (not quite "remedial" reading, but alomost) looking to collaborate with another similar class. I have this vision of meeting virtually--we have a video conference unit, or we could use skype or something--and discussing books, conducting research or something similar. We could then use a wiki to work collaboratively on some sort of project. I have tried to get this started several times through various sites I have found for school-to-school video conferencing, but they always seem to fall apart. Kristin
Hi, I am a 2 day per week classroom teacher to Grade 5's and 3 days a week Assistant principal in charge of ICT in a near city primary school near Adelaide in South Australia. Hello everyone, I am a high school social studies teacher in the United States looking to get my World History students collaborating with students around the world on some of the topics they are looking at. Specifically, I would like to see the different perspectives on past and current events from students around the world. Any forum would be great. We could create our own Ning, exchange videos, use Skype; I'm up for just about anything. I will post a discussion on the forum about an idea for an upcoming project that I have.
Hi! I'm Nancy, and I teach English and linguistics at an independent high school in central Mass. I am going to be tackling a new role this winter: coordinator of 21C curriculum for my school. And, so I am trying to get others excited about collaborating with others across the country and the globe. I believe this can and should be done across the curriculum, and there are several faculty who are eager to get started. I would love to get in touch with others who want to collaborate with us -- any subject, I'm betting. I welcome any advice or ideas, and I've got a couple I'll post here, as well.
thanks! I am really looking forward to getting to know and collaborate with this group.
I am a third grade teacher in New Jersey. I have a few ideas..
Social Studies- We study communities - Anyone interested in putting togeter a community project that they would like to share with us. We can tell you about our community and you could tell us about yours. Then we could compare and contrast them- either through a venn diagram, through a compare and contrast essay, or both.
Hello everyone!
I am a high school Spanish teacher, so i am very interested in distance collaboration for my students. It will give my students a real-world experience. I have never actively pursued the idea, but it has been one of my personal goals for my teaching, so I am a newbie!!!
