I'm delighted to find this community. I no longer see the classroom much, but my heart is still there!

I'm a former classroom teacher (17 years in ESOL and Spanish) now working as a Learning Technologist at the University of Sheffield in the UK.

Coming from a subject specialism where communication and collaboration are everything, I am excited by the opportunities that web2.0 is opening up and enjoying the intellectual, organisational and personal challenges involved in trying to help make deep, engaging, valuable learning happen.

I look forward to sharing and collaborating with you.
Hello everyone. I am Mark Ward and I work at the Flinders Centre for Science Education in the 21st Century. Our role is to ensure that evidence is used to inform decision making regarding science and mathematics education. Our web page is http://www.flinders.edu.au/science21 and I am particularly interested in collating a variety of useful websites for teachers. I have some sections on Wardy's page under science websites, mathematics websites and a very interesting one called play and create websites. I look forward to your contributions, and to being a part of this wonderful community. My email address is mark.ward@flinders.edu.au
MIke Umphrey--sometime writer, sometime teacher. I work in Polson, Montana, on the Flathead Reservation. I'm the founding director of the Montana Heritage Project, which remains my favorite education initiative ever, though it is still a paradigm too far for most schools.
Greetings All!

RayZ here, a k-12 school guy with some answers and still looking for the others.
The classroom changes but not the heart of true teachers/educators. I'm a member
of Lions International (We Serve) and "Teachers International" (We Share). Ah, I made
that last one up -- it fits our tradition though. Looking to spend lots more time with all
my new friends in Classroom 2.0.
Hey folks, my name is Ben Hassenger. I live in LA (that's the Lansing Area in Michigan) and am taking two classes at Michigan State University to renew my teaching certificate in elementary and special education after 25 years. I am looking forward to substitute teaching starting next month and will be looking for a K or 1st grade teaching job if it all works out. I hope to integrate technology and music into my teaching, you can check out some of my musical adventures at: www.myspace.com/bquietmusic

Looking forward to learning from all of you!
Hi everyone! I am Elizabeth Freeman. I teach first grade in Sandy Hook, KY. I have started a network about teaching elementary math the "new" way and I'm looking for people to participate in some of the discussions as a project for other teachers at my school. I am new to classroom 2.0 and I am excited to get to know everyone and join in on some discussions.
Hello! I'm glad to be a part of this network. I teach 8th grade U.S. History in Union City, MI. I have recently completed and earned a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Teaching with technology has become somewhat of a passion. Employing multimedia and collaborative Web 2.0 tools are becoming commonplace in my classroom. A next step that I'd like to see in my classroom is collaborating with other classrooms via wikis and video chats. Let me know if you're interested.
Hi. My name is John Oppenheim. I have been in high tech sales and management for 40 years. About 6 years ago I started teaching at Pepperdine University and Downey Adult School. Currently I teach at MIS at Pepperdine and Accounting and Quickbooks at Downey.

At Pepperdine we are using both Blackboard and Confluence in our class. I have a great wiki from Confluence and also have my own Google sites and PB wiki and have recently signed up for Ning. I do a lot of consulting to various organizations and am trying to keep up with things.

Recently I attended a conference in San Francisco and went to two workshops on social networking. I really like this site and would like to connect with people who can benefit from my experience and vice versa (more on that one than mine).

Thanks for your efforts.
Hi everyone. Ron Jeror here. I teach Global History and Geography to 9th and 10th graders in upstate NY. And by upstate I mean that the closest city to us is Ottawa, ON (approx 90 miles). Was recently introduced to this site at the national NCSS conference and I'm hoping it will help me learn to better integrate technology into my teaching.
Hi my name is Kimberly Farmer and I am the Technology Facilitator at Sallie B Howard Charter School in Wilson, NC. I am looking to connect with other facilitators or teachers who want to learn about using Web 2.0 tools in the classroom together. My goal is to provide a meeting place for my teachers who want to collaborate but do not have the time to find partners with people willing to do the same thing. We are a K-8 school and I am especially interested in meeting teachers who teach Social Studies in the middle school grades to assist one of our teachers who is scrambling to make his lessons interesting. If you have any suggestions please feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with you all!!
Hi People

I am a teacher looking for the technology to engage my students and to make my job easier. Perhaps like many others I am both inspired and daunted at breadth of the possibilities. I have decide to start small ( again). I am going o keep my edublog up to date as much as possible, and take RSS feeds from relevant forums. Have been considering wading into Moodle, but I am going to hang a bit so I don't take on too much.

I'm excited.

Dave
Oooooops!

Forgot to say I live and teach secondary business, maths, and science in Perth, Western Australia.
