I have been asked to create new instructional materials to be used by schools on Inauguration Day. If you have any ideas please share.

Thank you.

FYI: Link-Live.org won't stream live according to the email I received from them. See below:

Dear Xavier,

While we will be featuring content from the inauguration ceremony, however, we will not be streaming it live.  Content from the inauguration ceremony will be available after the ceremony has concluded and may be accessed at [ http://www.linklive.org/ ]www.linklive.org

Thank you very much about your interest in LINK-live Xavier.  If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Good to know. I will update my blog post. Thank you for sharing.
Back in November I had my 7th and 8th grade students write an essay about Barack Obama's Election Night speech and the results were very good. The question could be used for his Inauguration speech as well.

You can find a link to the assignment and the essays here...

"Yes We Can" Essay Assignment
I'm going to use Mrs. Chili's essay assignment with my gifted 6th graders. We'll see how they do.
Hi Lisa,
There seems to be a ton of FABULOUS teaching ideas online the past few weeks. I took one idea from teachervision.com regarding the Inaugural Poem and will be using it as a teachable moment with my students tomorrow.
I've posted it on my blog: http://blogs.scholastic.com/9_12/2009/01/a-few-weeks-ago.html
Enjoy the day!
