G'day from Melbourne, Australia. I'm a 6th Grade teacher in a 1 to 1 classroom wanting to set up collaborative opportunities with 'like minded' teachers and classrooms. Possibilities may include development of 'radio episodes' for an online radio station (planning, scripting, recording, publishing), video conferencing, podcasting, etc etc etc. If you're keen to get some 'real' collaboration going then i'd be interested in hearing from you..
thanks

Hi Simon,
I will pass this on to some teachers and see if we can arrange some collaboration time with you.

This is really cool !

Hi Simon.

I'm a Grade 7 teacher in a 1-to-1 classroom in Canada. I've been looking for classrooms with whom to collaborate. I think my kids might enjoy Australia as a class to work with. I've been thinking of using wikis and blogs. Truth be told, I'm pretty new at this, so I don't even know what I don't know.

My kids are mostly 12 and 13. If you're interested, I'd love to hear back from you.
Hi Pat,
Thanks for the reply. We are still on holidays here but I was hoping to start the year with some sort of collaboration with another school. I've done some collaboration before with schools from Japan and the US (with mixed success) but i'm keen to get something going that is not a one off. I've got a few ideas but i've found these things are easier to get up and running if you can talk, discuss and plan not just through email. I'm on Skype -ssshavian, failing that we'll email and see what we can get something started.
Thanks
Simon
My Skype name is cookieteacher72. I haven't made a Skype call yet, but logistically, how does it work? Do we make an appointment?
I've added you to my skype list...all we have to do is call when we are both online.
Oh my goodness. I just realized that you are 15 hours ahead of me in time zones. As I Googled "Melbourne Australia time" at 10:01AM Friday, January 16, the search result was "1:01am Saturday (EST) - Time in Melbourne, Victoria". I feel so behind in the world - sigh.

I really liked what your kids have done with video making. Being a Star Wars fan, I got a real kick out of the Episode VII.
Hi Simon,

I teach in Birmingham, Alabama and just joined Classroom 2.0. If you are still interested, this year I am searching for collaborative opportunities with 5th, 6th , or 7th graders here in the states or internationally. I am looking for ways to provide authentic projects that will keep my students engaged and technologically savvy. Last year our students created WW II radio broadcasts and incorporated podcasts. Our curriculum is 20th century American history.

I would love to hear your thoughts.
