Does anyone know of a free resource that can convert a Flash file (produced in Adobe Captivate) to a movie file format - preferably AVI.

Thank you for any help.

Usually a 3rd party program is needed to do that converting.
Never tried this, but a quick google search gave me this: http://www.avi-swf-convert.com/
Thank you Dan.

I have tried the one you suggest and did not get a good result. Thank you for trying.

I'm in a video editing workshop this afternoon, I'll ask around. =-)
The very best one I found is not free but is reasonably priced. They used to give a 45 day free trial (no watermarks) followed by an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee. I bought it because it gave me the best quality of about 15 that I tried. I was changing students' PPTs to swf with i-Spring Pro and then from swf to flv or avi to use in Adobe Premeire Elements. Adobe says PE takes swf files, but I have never been able to get them to work.
It's from Bytescout --> http://bytescout.com/swftovideoscout.html. Good luck!
The YouTube Downloader program has the option to convert. I have used it successfully and it runs on any system I have installed it on. Plus, it is free.
Many thanks for the help. It appears to work.

as I know moyea swf to video converter is famous for swf conversion,
with which you can convert both online swf url and offline swf files to any video, audio and picture formats you want,

Thank you Josef.

I have tried Moyea and it does work, just costs US$70.
