Finding new blogs/bloggers to read is always a challenge. It is great to have the "big guy/girl" bloggers to follow on your blog roll, but they can be intimidating to comment to. It is great to have new bloggers, especially Canadian teacher blogs/bloggers to follow. We can leave comments, encourage each other (especially for new bloggers) and create a great Personal Learning Network (PLN). I cannot begin to tell you how much I've learned about teaching from fellow bloggers.

My blogs are: www.blogjunkie@edublogs.org and www.thebookbin.edublogs.org

I would like to extend an invitation to Canadian Mashup members to drop my blog for a visit and reply to this forum post with your blog address so we can drop by your blog. Adding a RSS feed to your blog is really helpful so we can add your blog to a feed reader. Feedburner is the one I use. I use Google Reader as my feed reader. I like it because it is easy and uncomplicated to use. I follow too many blogs for things to be complicated.

Also, if you haven't joined Twitter (microblogging) I challenge you to give it a go. If you check the December archives on my blog you will find 4 posts titled Twitter Week (1-4) in Review. Might help you see the power of Twitter for creating a PLN and provide you with a few laughs as well! :-)

Looking forward to finding you in the blogsphere!
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Great idea! I checked out your blog and look forward to following your adventures with your students. I was particularly struck with the big lesson (about posting inappropriate content). This is a good one to learn early on. I hope that students in the class appreciate the experience and learn from it.

I have a blog too (only about a month into blogging): www.wordsmith.edublogs.org. I have rss set up too.

Take care

Shannon
Hi Cindy,
I have a blog that I am trying to maintain - my New Year's resolution. I've had it for a couple of years but have only made sporadic entries. In fact, until recently, I hadn't told anyone about it! It's called A Teacher's Ruminations and the address is http://waingortgrade2spanishbilingual.blogspot.com/
Drop by and leave a message.

I edit the Active Learning Blog Carnival which is a monthly journal of articles about engaging your students in learning. I'm always looking for new articles.
HI Cindy -- you can find my blog at Small Changes; BIG RETURNS. I also have a Squidoo wbsite with lots of easy-to-use tools and resources. BTW -- Squidoo is a great choice for an easily built website that you can use with kids. They can select a charity for their 'ad revenue'. The more people hit the ads, the more their fund builds. My choice was KIVA, so click on some ads if you go there.
I will be blogging as a means of reflecting during my pre-internship in March and I would love to get some comments, ideas, and suggestions from experienced educators. Check out my blog at http://mcfarljo.edublogs.org/
Hi Cindy,

I'm new to blogging and I am just starting to build my own blog. http://adventurousedtech.blogspot.com/ There isn't that much to look at yet, but I encourage everyone to check it out. Comments are always appreciated. I look forward to checking out other people's blogs and getting better connected with other teachers using technology in their classrooms.
I just started blogging a couple of weeks ago. My blog focuses on technology and inquiry-based learning, and centers around year-long, tech-based Canadian History Project called the Cigar Box Project.

Please come check it out: http://thinkinginmind.blogspot.com/

Thanks!
Cindy,
Thanks for the response and the encouraging words. A couple years ago our school adopted Google Apps as our school-wide email provider. Google Docs came as part of the package - and so our students can access Google Docs through their email inbox. Google Apps was worked out very well for us.
I've been blogging with my students for the past 4 years, and for two years at the following address:

http://www.rism.ac.th/class/hs/davidw/

The idea is, the students rotate through responsibility to produce a summary for each class, and the other students have to leave a constructive comment on each other's summaries. In two of my higher achieving classes this has produced a feedback loop where the posts just keep getting better and better.

My personal blog, mostly on topics recently related to my Masters in Educational Technology can be found at http://davidwees.com/discuss.
This is such a great idea that I would like you to write it up and submit it to the Active Learning Blog Carnival.
Thanks Cindy,

I have been very remiss in updating my two blogs of late. When I have time (usually when attending a conference), I tend to blog the events here - http://IAmLiterate.blogspot.com

I have fun with photography so I also share photo making at http://makingphotographs.blogspot.com
