Hi everyone! I currently teach 6th grade Social Studies (US History 1877 to Present) in Goochland, VA. I am also Social Studies Department Chair and Cheerleading Coach. We were introduced to this site during a summer technology integration course. I am lucky enough to teach in a technology-rich system. In addition to having access to great tools (laptop carts, iPods, digital cameras, document cameras) we are also very fortunate to have Promethean Boards in every classroom in my middle school. We also have amazing software that excites students and great technology staff that shows us the way! I'm very excited to be here and share information and ideas with educators from around the world!
I am an independent science educator, producing short science videos and the free Experiment of the Week newsletter. I am looking for ideas to make my site more useful for students and teachers, as well as keeping up with new ways to use the internet to make science interesting and understandable. I have 15 years experience in Museum Education, 20 years presenting live programs at schools and museums across the country, and this is my second year of video production. If you ever need help finding the right science demo or activity for a lesson, give a yell.
My name is Renae Townsend. I'm an ESOL teacher and work in 4 schools-elementary through high- in Goochland County, VA. Prior I taught in Albemarle County (Charlottesville, VA) for 8 years as Spanish teacher and ESOL teacher in both Adult Ed and high school. I love teaching ESOL/languages. One of my most favorite things to do in the classroom is use music as a venue for learning grammar, vocabulary, idioms, history, geography, and just culture in general. I play the guitar and as traveling teacher in a rural county, and have found that it's not only a great tool to use with ESOL students, but also within regular ed. classes. I usually invite myself as a guest speaker or music teacher into classrooms throughout the county as a means of bridging possible feelings of isolation/exclusion ESOL students may feel due to the nature of our program (pull out/collaboration). If you're interesting in seeing some of the lessons/music exercises I've done with both ESOL and regular students, you can visit my blog at http://blogs.glnd.k12.va.us/teachers/rtownsend/about/
I also developed a volunteer program in the community. I really appreciate suggestions/ working together with other teachers. I would LOVE to hear your ideas/suggestions/etc. I'm also interested in using technology with my students-so please share any ideas you have that might be helpful for me!

Hi! I am Amy Wells from Wichita, Kansas. I am a looping teacher generally, but due to future boundary changes, I am making my temporary home in third grade this year. I was introduced to 2.0 through a class for my masters in school leadership and am loving the dialogue here! I hope to learn more about integrating techonology into my classroom as well as my administrative duties in the coming school year.

Hello, my name is Berta. I am a high school science teacher of 20 years in Miami, Florida. I am also presently working on my doctorate in Information Technology and Distance Learning with Nova Southeaster University. My interest in Web 2.0 and social networking sites (SNS) is two fold: for my classroom use and to formulate my dissertation questions. This is the area I am interested in all around. I welcome any suggestions, both for classroom use in a high school science class and for dissertation ideas. Thank you for accepting me into your group.
