Our district has put in an order for interactive Promethean whiteboards. Only one per school, but it is a great new resource for us. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good resource sites for sharing and downloading teacher tools/activities to use with a class on a Promethean whiteboard. I have done a quick search, and there are a lot of UK sites, but that makes sense as the govt has been pushing money at interactive whiteboards in school for a while now. Are there any that you or your school use regularly? I am thinking of an equivalent to Smart Exchange.

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan

Actually we are thinking of creating flip charts to post online eventually. Just started with Promethean Boards last year. Haven't posted things yet though.

If you follow Promethean Planet on Twitter, you can get updates for new charts, info and more.

Here are a few links our teachers are using now.

There are lots of lessons and examples to be found for Promethean flip charts. The most difficult resources to locate find will be functionality and training tutorials at first. That is what we discovered after a large scale implementation. That is what we found:

www.promethean.Learning.com (which is a different URL from Promethean Planet and has different content) has some Interactive tutorials that can be taken with a certificate that will print when successfully completed.

Teacher Tube has a few (not many) intro videos.

Net Treker and Atomic Learning have several basic how to videos that are free and are very useful to get a user to a basic level.

The best bet for troubleshooting is to stick with your installer. You are going to need their assistance!
That last link you wrote did not work. Promethean Learning? Is it right?

EDIT: I think I got it. No dot between Promethean and Learning... www.prometheanlearning.com

I work for Promethean and if people are not familiar with Promethean Planet I might suggest it is worth checking out.

There are many, many lessons shared by teachers at www.prometheanplanet.com and it now has over 400,000 members!

You will probably want to check out the 'resources' section first for lessons that are being shared:

You can also download resource packs and thematic collections which extend the Promethean software's resource libraries with thousands of new things. These are updated and added to regularly.

Themes: http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.3638

If you choose the US language you will be offered the option to search by State Standards.

Many users are from the USA and you can see where they are by zooming into the map here: (You get more detail the more you zoom in)

There are several collaborative projects where schools connect up with each other. Ask in the forum.

When you sign up to Promethean Planet you can access a free tool that lets 3 classrooms anywhere in the world connect their boards and share work. http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.16582

For video introductions and ideas, there is a section called Activtips that is very popular

For more in-depth PD options - there is ActivLearning

You can also subscribe to stuff using the iTunes store - search for 'promethean' - If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone there is an 'app' called 'MyPlanet' which can access video tips and ideas. You can find that in the iTunes App store.

You can also find many videos on teachertube.
http://teachertube.com/videoList.php?pg=uservideolist&user_id=4...

It is free to join the service and you can even download a free version of the Promethean ActivInspire Software to use on ANY make of Interactive Whiteboard or even just with a projector.

Hope that helps.
Thanks for these great tips Mark.
