Civics ideas

Ok folks.You did a great job with the world history ideas. However, I am starting the year with Civics and Economics. What good ideas, resources can you share with me? I feel a little overwhelmed at the moment. I haven't taught Civics since I moved from WV.

The Choices program has a several issue oriented units that can be downloaded. I have used this with ninth graders and they really enjoyed them Basically the students explore the issue from several angles--the unit culminates in a debate /public forum activity. There is a nominal fee for the materials.
