Study Techniques for 10, 11 and 12 students

I am looking for ideas and proven techniques to provide better tools for students in these grades with busy schedules, Pre-AP/AP classes and Extra curricular activities.

Please post any techniques used to balance the load and effective ways of studying with short schedules for prior to testing.
