free and safe web hosting for students?
I am looking for web hosting that is free and safe for students to create their own html-based sites (no templates). Can anyone help?

You could have a look at Bravenet.com I use it for my personal page and even though I pay, I think the free version should be pretty kid-friendly. A few years back I used it as a place to hold a threaded discussion for a high school class and we never experienced anything inappropriate.

Have you looked into weebly? It's a free webhost. You might also consider using a wiki. A free wiki can be created at www.wikispaces.com.
