I am doing a project with my 7th graders where they will be writing and illustrating their own folktales.  In past years, they've typed their stories on Word and drew in their own illustrations after it was printed out.  This year, I'd like to use some 21st c. technology for the project!  Does anyone have any suggestions for (free) web tools where the kids can write, illustrate (uploading an illustration would be great), and possibly read their tales?

thank you!
Here are a couple of on-line sites that may or may not fit your needs.

Bookemon

Tikatok

However, you may want to still consider Word (or an on-line word processor) and use sites that allow them to draw on-line. There are many sites that do that. As mentioned, Glogster is a good choice for a poster type project.

You may also want to consider digital storytelling using Microsoft PhotoStory 3 or Voicethreads

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies! I have used Glogster often, but it isn't quite what I'm looking for with this project. Bookemon looks like exactly what I need!
