Hello,

I am trying to develop a unit on Climate Change that would have students actually use one of the IPCC reviewed and available climate change models to produce visuals for student projects.  Has anyone done this or have anything to send me that would help me build my unit?  It will be used in my 7th-8th grade environmental studies class.

Thanks,
Christy

Christy, I don't have any immediate wow resources, but this sounds like a great unit. I would love to work with you on developing it and then we could both benefit. Maybe we could even do some class colaboration when we teach it. If you would send me the url for the IPCC and any objectives and ideas you have, I will start see where I can begin helping out. pwebb30@comcast.net
Just thought you might be interested in following a current study on climate change in the Arctic Ocean. The Vanishing Arctic website follows the work aboard the USCGS HEALY as they try to understand how climate change is affecting the Arctic. We are one of 6 schools who are lucky enough to ask the scientists questions by email and later by phone.

The Coast Guard web site has even more information about how the HEALY does research. Check out the media links.
I recently came across this website for the Alliance for Climate Education: http://www.acespace.org/teachers/resources. There are a lot of links there to resources and curriculum on climate change. Hope that helps!
