MA Instructional Technology

Has anyone in the US done an MA in Instructional Technology that they would recommend? I am looking for an online program that is respected, and affordable. All suggestions welcome.

I finished my MA in Instructional Media this summer from Wilkes University in PA. It's totally online and has a partnership with Discovery Education. I am currently enrolled in a program at Central Michigan University. The program is all online, semesters are divided into 8 week sessions. You move through the program in a cohort, take one class at a time and you are done in 2 years. So far I have been pleased with the program. Good Luck in your search!

The University of Nebraska at Kearney has a solid (and affordable) online MA in IT.

In particular, it gave me a lot of flexibility to define my course of study. I really wanted to explore more of the "technical" side of instructional technology (ie programming and design). Nearly a 1/3 of my credits were of an "independent study" nature...allowing me to learn databases, PHP, CSS design, backend coding for LMSs, etc.

Not for everyone. Still, I'm usually of the opinion that once you're in a MA you should be more in charge of 1) Understanding what you need to know and 2) How to get there.
