I have recently been doing some research on a piece of Assistive Technology that can be used in the classroom called, the "Tap-It." This device is basically a TV/Computer touch screen that allows a user to enlarge images, writing, and other things. The enlargement of these items provide better accuracy in icon selection. Some students with lack of precision and/or involuntary arm movements, needs a larger target in order to "tap" the correct and desired space on the screen. This device helps greatly with issues such as these. The board also encourages interaction and gives students a chance to participate in a lesson in a more hands-on and beneficial way. I would suggest this device to any teacher. This can be used in both special education and general education classrooms to promote involvement and engage students in a fun way! What are your thoughts on this device?
Here is a website for anyone who is looking for more information on this piece of assistive technology...
