So, there is this game where students can buy and sell stocks.
Students learn about the stock market and some math.
Has anyone ever used this activity in their classrooms?
I'm thinking of using it with my students, but I want to find some 2.0 teaching media to help guide my students through the game.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Stocksquest's server no longer works.

Try this instead: http://vse.marketwatch.com/Game/Homepage.aspx

I have used investopedia for a free stock market simulation in my economics classes. In many ways it is an ideal free simulation tool. My one critique is that the data on rankings which are updated daily and serve as the hook for the game live behind the login. I wish the ranking data could be exported through rss or some other updating embed to my course website. Any folks find anything that satisfies this critique?

I also wanted to point out that the difference between Investopedia and many "educational" stock market games is that the educational options are not free

I had students record stock market pitches for the class in which they articulated their reasoning for purchasing a particular stock. Here is the example:

fabulous tool - I used it with my Econ students over several semesters. You can take your kids as far as they can handle with so many great teacher resources.
