What are some effective classroom management strategies for children in the lower elementary grade levels?

I will be student teaching next spring, and I will be certified to teach in a little over a year.  I have always wanted to teach anywhere between kindergarten to 2nd grade.  I have been concerned with how I am going to manage a classroom full of children.  I was looking for some helpful effective classroom management strategies for children within these grade levels.
