I was wondering a few things of this group.  What kind of technology (besides word for typing papers and powerpoint for presentations) are most of your students using inside and outside the classroom to aid their studies?
Thanks!

Hi Kelly,

Prezi, Glogster edu, and Dipity are great web based sites that students can use to create projects or presentations on science topics.

WISE and Howtosmile are great sites that are free and provide resources for student learning and real-life simulations for students to participate in

Collaborize and Edmodo are sites that enable my students to collaborate safely with each other as well as post announcements and assignments.

Live Binders and Evernote are great tools for me as a teacher to organize all of my "stuff"

These are two of my livebinders that I share with teachers from my school.

Here is a link to my class website which is a google site - again google docs is a great collaboration tool for my students!

All of these sites are free or have free use terms.

Check them out and play with them.

Have fun!!

Kristen

thanks kristen!

I work as a tech coach in our district and the coolest projects we have done this year in the science classrom are stop motion animation projects. We have done a few different ones. You can see my blog post and the video at Web 2.0 edu.

You can also check out a video one of the teachers I work with posted to Youtube. This video was a class project. All the students did some of the work to put it together. Then, they were able to use the video as a means of studying for their test.
