Does anybody know of any children's books that can be used in a 4th grade classroom relating to exploring and colonization?  I am creating a thematic unit on this topic and need some ideas for literature I can use with the children in a learning center.  I would like some books that are related to the exploration of America, but also some that focus on the colonization of Texas.  Any help would be really appreciated!

I used to teach those units in fourth grade. Here are a few books that I used:

Blood on the River by Elisa Carbone

Pedro's Journal by Pam Conrad

Explorers of North America by Christine Taylor Butler

Unfortunately I can't think of more because I'm no longer in the classroom and I left all of my resources with the teacher that took my place. I do have lesson plans and activities though.
