There are a couple of options you can use.
The Firefox browser has several plug-ins that allow you to download a video from youtube. The one I prefer is called Easy YouTube Video Downloader.
If you don't want to use Firefox, you can use Zamzar.com to convert download the video. Copy the YouTube URL of the video you want to download into the first space then select the file type you want and enter your e-mail (they don't send spam or give your e-mail to anyone). When the file is converted, Zamzar will send a link to your e-mail so you can go download the video to your computer. Zamzar does have a 100MB file size limit for free conversions or a paid version for $7/month I think which allows you to convert up to 1GB.
I didn't even need to get a separate converter. I *really* appreciate your help! :)
I am taking a class this summer that goes over the copyright issues when using it for educational purposes. You would be amazed at how liberal video and audio usage is when involved in education. For the most part, teachers are free to use nearly any parts of the songs, but not necessarily the entire song. I would recommend looking into copyright and fair use for teachers.
There use to be a really cool tab that google had and all you had to do is put it on your book marks and click on the tab to download the video, but that quit working.
Now I use keepvid.com to download youtube videos. I use youtube videos all the time for short clips in my classroom.
I use http://keepvid.com/.
It works great! You choose the format.
Agreed. I've used this one the longest and most consistently.
