Hello all! Sue Maiers here from Buffalo Lake, MN. My licenses say I teach Communications Technology, keyboarding, LD, and K-6 elementary, but my youngest students call me the computer lady! It's fun having the class all the kids want to come to. Now if I could only convince our staff to get that fired up about learning it...

Your comment about teaching classes that "all the kids want to come to" really caught my attention! I've been part of this community for a while now and have to say that it is filled with educators who are passionate about improving their classroom practice and making learning engaging and participatory. In fact, I've learned a lot just by following different discussions and signing up for different interest groups.

Have you looked at some of the groups yet? I'm sure you'll find something you're really interested in! Just click the Groups tab to see a list of all groups or do a search for a term you're interested in.

Thank you for posting a link to your blog. I enjoyed reading your reflection on the K12 Conference and really liked your use of Sketchcast. I saw it as a very creative way to post and explain an assignment on your blog. If you continue to use this service and find value in what it has to offer, please share your experiences and reflections with us here. Konrad-

Thanks for the feedback, but I cannot take credit for the sketchcast...that was a sample that I embedded in my blog from a math teacher...I thought it was a stellar use of the tool and one I wanted to highlight for the faculty I'm working with. I will be certain to share any successes/failures with the tool.

I will also modify that post to clarify that I'm not responsible for that really cool sketchcast!

Greetings and salutations...
I feel like I'm arriving late to the party, but I'm here now... :)
I am attempting to start podcasting with my students and while looking around the web for teacher tips/tools, came across this site. Seems like a great place for mutual support and encouragement. I work with middle school students in Oakland, CA and really look forward to having them dispel the notion of what inner city kids are capable of doing!

You're right, Stephanie - this is a great place for mutual support and encouragement. It's also a great place to learn about meaningful implementation of technology in your subject area.
