I am just learning all the great things I can do with my iPad, and there is so much to learn! There's just so much I don't know, and I'm not sure where to start. I've watched so many YouTube videos on the iPad and its uses. I literally find myself getting lost for hours looking and downloading apps for use in the classroom. I feel a bit overwhelmed...happy but it's just too much information at once! Does anyone else feel like this?

QR stands for quick read.  They are similar in appearance to bar codes.  They are used as a graphical shortcut to URLs.  They are showing up everywhere from magazines to strawberry containers.  There are apps for smartphones, iPads and iPods to read the codes.

I agree with your feeling of being overwhelmed.  I am working on an iPod rollout and there is so much information sometimes I feel like I am trying to drink from a fire hose.  Someone did tell me about an app called App Shopper that alerts you to popular apps and lets you know if they go on sale.

Thanks, Laura. I got a chuckle out of your message...drinking from a fire hose. I have also noticed the bar codes on everything, and now I have a better understanding. I will be using the iPad this year in my gifted classes, and it's funny to learn that my students know more about the iPad than I do! However, I am making an effort to learn as much as I can. It really is a great tool to use.
Thanks, Gavin! I just attended a conference and learned how to scan them. Now, there are QR codes everywhere I look. I really didn't notice their purpose until now. Will wonders never cease?

Re QR codes - I have various bookmarks - see the Diigo list or the Evernote shared notebook.

(I love both Evernote and Diigo - I have only just started using Evernote shared notebooks as a way of sharing with others - wondering if this is actually better than a Diigo list for the purpose?)

Choices choices! Any thoughts anyone?
