How have teachers been using Edmodo?

I just found out about Edmodo and want to learn of any applications 4-8 grade teachers have put in place using this program. I like that students need the instructor's pass key to access the site and that information can be sent directly to students' cell phones.

Professional development using edmodo guides instruction and helps the teacher become confident using it as a student before deploying it in the classroom. My students love it. I post assignments and have a social area. My assignments incorporate google docs, simulation sites and reflections. The library has become a valued resource and the teacher connections make it an amazing way to stay connected with those who have similar interests. I'm a big fan. I do have suggestions to make edmodo even better. It is still evolving.
