I am Xavier and I teach Spanish at a Chicago Public School. I am currently looking for 7th and 8th grade Spanish teachers world wide to collaborate on a project with students. If you are interested you can respond to this thread.
Information about the project I want to carry out:
I want to create a "digital tourist guide for teenagers" where my students in 8th grade would create different sections of a guide about Chicago but as an online project in order to present students overseas with our urban environment from my students' perspective. This is in the early stages as we are just introducing vocabulary and expressions. The main focus is to use the foreign language but through fun activities where students will have to use it. Eventually, I am hoping that I will get other schools from other states and countries to participate of this and tell us about their schools and cities so that we can learn about them and expand our online teenage traveling guide. I also want students to create something different and interesting to market their city (video commercials, e-posters, e-flyers, etc.). This way different groups will have different choices of products to create too. This is an idea that is of course subject to modifications and suggestions from any other teachers/classrooms/students that would like to join!
Please get in touch if you are interested as I would like to start something soon!

Hi Xavier,
My name is Camila Sousa and I also teach 8th grade Spanish, in Lincolnwood, IL. Our class would love to collaborate with yours if you are still interested. Last year our school collaborated with other countries in this project: http://an-image-a-week.posterous.com/ it was a lot of fun. Students just sent an e-mail to the Posterous site and the projects were immediately posted there. I would love to use Posterous again because it is familiar to our students and very easy to post from their e-mail account. Here is my website: http://errandoseaprendeaherrar.wikispaces.com/Welcome
