Wow, what an interesting concept. As I read this article I became more and more fascinated with the idea and more and more worried as well. Being a teacher, it scares me to think that fewer and fewer teachers may be needed over time. Not to mention that more and more people never have to leave there homes. The more social networking you can do via computers, along with learning and the rest of the endless things you can accomplish via the internet, will people ever need to leave their homes again?

The reality is certainly upon us that the nature of learning has changed. I see it positively...someone (teachers) will always be needed to direct learning activities even with information technologies in existence that make it easy to access learning situations. I wrote about cell phones in the classroom at my blog and followed it up with this. I don't think you need to worry about being out of a job. But I think we all need to embrace the new technologies (and the inherent paradigm shifts) that are an increasing reality in the lives of our students.
