I listened to techchicks episode 98. They discussed screenchomp, filming tricks, infographics, the Global storytelling project, 182 Google tips, Carrot sticks, Songsterr, Typing Web, Kickstarter, Dunno, and Spy Mouse.
Screenchomp is for verbally giving “editing points” on student papers. This way you can explain more in less time. Filming tricks has different tips for making movies. Infographics is a prettier version of Excel. The Global Storytelling project is a story on a wiki that has been added to by classrooms all over the world. 182 Google tips has tips on how to search better on Google. Carrot sticks is a math practice website where the reward is carrotsticks. Typing web has free lessons and games for practicing typing. Kickstarter is a website where you can go to give or receive money for different projects. Dunno is an app that does the searching on a search engine for you. Spy mouse is a game with a mouse rescuing cheese while avoiding the cats. Songsterr helps you learn to play in a Wikipedia type set-up.
Overall, I enjoyed listening and learning about all of these new websites that are so helpful. They can be used for many different and interesting things in the classroom. I also thought that the podcast was well put together and the techchicks work well together.
