How to search for a job?

Hello Everybody,
I am a qualified teacher from India with fourteen years of experience of teaching science at middle school level. I need some guidance on how to get an employment here in U.S.
I am here on a student visa, my husband is a green card holder.
At present, I am doing M.A in Biology, is it possible for some school to sponsor me based on my previous experience as a Science teacher?
If anybody can answer my questions it would be a great help. Thanks.

Check out education websites of various state education departments, and I would also go to the school websites of larger cities. Many universities will help someone like yourself get a state teaching certificate.

Many schools need science teachers, but they also need math teachers. In my own experience, as a licensed Biology and Chemistry teacher, I have been asked to teach middle school math because I have the license to do that. While it wasn't my first choice, I grew to enjoy it very much. So always consider what related areas that you might be qualified to teach when you send information or ask questions.

I don't know if you would be interested in a community in the center of the United States, but Wichita, KS is a great place to live and teach. I know that they participate in several programs to help people become teachers. One program is called the GYOT, Grow Your Own Teacher. Its main focus is to help community members or employees go back to school, BUT it is also open to anyone who can be accepted by the 3 major universities in the city.

Wichita, KS is a moderately sized city, yet they are progressive in their dedication to education. The community and parents are very supportive of teachers, and they just recently spent much time, money and effort in a total remodeling and rebuilding project for all existing schools. New middle schools, a new elementary school and a new high school have been built within the past 5 years.
