When it comes to technology in the classroom, how hopeful is it? Do you use technology in your room? If you do, what kind of technology do you use? Do you think it is beneficial for the students or no?

Technology is absolutely helpful in the classroom.  It is very motivating and engaging for all children.  There are many free apps to put on iPads that children can learn from.  They are able to read using various technology devices and smartboards allow for engaging, interactive instruction and learning. So many students are already connected to one form of technology or another at home, that using technology devices just makes sense as instruction today incorporates many 21st literacies.

I am in love with technology in the classroom. Students use their cellphones to answer warm-up questions. It allows them to get their cellphone fix as well as incorporating a new way to answer the warm-up or bell ringer instead of wasting paper. Students can text their responses to a group number and the answer can be displayed via the smartboard.
