Glad to meet you too! Is Montmartre a part of the South East Corner Stone School Division? I am studying at the University of Regina, and getting to do my pre-internship in the city. I am unsure where the U of R is sending me for my internship next fall but I requested either the Chinook S.D, or S.E Cornerstone. I felt like I was throwing a dart at a map when requesting where to go. Im originally from Wilkie so I appreciate the smaller communities. My minor is history and unfortunately I feel like the faculty has been preparing me so much for my major (Biology) that I havent had any chance to dig my fingers into learning how to teach social studies.

I may have to ask you for tips some day down the road. How does it feel to be a teacher and principal? You must be busy beyond belief!

Hello Dave! I am new to Classroom 2.0 and I was searching for other Saskatchewan teachers. I was wondering what subjects do you teach and what area of SK are you from?

Hi Dave -- I wonder if your Law students can do a little research for me. I want to know what the name is of the Canadian legislation that says Canadian students cannot have personal information stored on offshore computers. I know there are restrictions on our students registering to use US software, but I can't recall the name of the law and I can't find the links. I also need some info on use of digital resources by Canadian students. Can you our your classes help me with links &/or summaries? Thanks, Sue

Good examples. So in the coming year, pick one where you feel the comments were well thought out and represent your objectives.

By the way the submission form is linked at the bottom of the monthly carnival, the link changes every month so check the blog for the current one.

Law would be interesting, don't think I've had a submission about actively involving student in that topic. Smile!

Hi Dave, great to see another Saskatchewan face. Think about getting your students to write something on the history blog and submit it to the Active Learning Blog Carnival. I'm always looking for student examples.

Welcome to Canadians Mashup, Dave. I'm using this weekend to catch up on my greetings. I don't see the banner on your group list, so you may have another step or two.

(1) Click on Sue Hellman above this message to navigate to my page. Part way down on the left is a Canadian map under My Groups. If you click on that and then look beneath the main banner (right of center) on the group page, you should see + Join this Group. Click and that should do it.
2) To introduce yourself to the group or leave note to say you made it, please avoid using the Comment Wall as all comments left there seem to go directly to all members' emails. Instead use the Welcome Discussion Forum above.

Bienvenue, from Sue

Hi Dave -- I'd like to invite you to join a Classroom 2.0 group called Canadians Mashup. I'm trying to build a network of Canadian educators and bloggers. No discussions yet. I'm just starting out by trying to find where everyone lives and what they teach. If you're interested, please add me as a colleague as well.

I read with interest your comments about Edtech vs IT. I really think my school district has to be the poster district for that problem. They really want everyone to use the same stuff and preferably in the same way. I wish they saw their role as making teachers' lives easier. I think our IT guys believe if teachers all just went away and left them to get on with their job as they see fit, they'd have the perfect IT system!!!!!!!!!
