A great deal of the approach is traditional in nature - with much more emphasis placed on performance types of assessment - to match up with a philosophy of a more student centered approach to teaching and learning. The technolgy application in many cases is inthe context of reviewing, collecting, and interpreting results from major tests like the PA asessment tests - we review where information can be found and how that inofrmation can be utilized in terms of curricular planning
hi, I really wanna share abt teaching in Pre school and elementary school. I run a school for the children ageing 3 to 12. We dn't have technology to school. Am partway through Gardner's new book too and enjoying. Have you read Disrupting Class? You might enjoy it as well. Like Pink's book, and actually had a chance to get to know him last summer when I had him come to speak about it at a conference I was in charge of. Nice guy, thoughtful, interesting.
When I clicked on your page I noticed that you are from Wilkes Barre. I visited there last winter -- it was my first time to a town that was real important in the history of my mother's family. In fact, one of my ancestors (Thomas Bennet) was a "Forty Forter" and lots of relatives are buried there. Well then I was really intrigued when I saw that you teach at Wyoming Seminary. Some of my relatives help found it, and many of them went there, including my great grandparents (in the 1860s), and my grandfather was sent there from Nebraska in the 90s and graduated from there as well. It was always a place that figured in family lore and I was really excited to visit there in January, and just this morning noticed the Wyoming Seminary coffee mug in my kitchen!
