Hi, Margit,

So good to hear from you. I just set up the Classroom 2.0 page yesterday! I am also working on a Netvibes page, http://www.netvibes.com/anneshaw#21st_Century_Schools

Hi,
I just attended the CR2.0 workshop in Sacramento. Steve says we really should connect. :) Things should slow down a bit soon. How are 2Think2Learn and homeschool2.0 going?

Hi Margit,
Good to be connected! I hope what we're doing at NextVista.org will be valuable to homeschoolers where you are. Is that your focus now?
Take care,
Rushton

Hi,
Thanks for your note. I'll be leaving soon for CUE, so things have been really busy at work. Let's connect in a week or two. I'd love to discuss a few ideas. Take care!

H Margit

Sharing the resorces is fine and I have e-mailed you a more complete list of the web sites we provide for educators.

The PDF file for whatever: School v2.0 is quite large (12Mb) and some systems struggle with this size file but I will send that via e-mail ad see how we go.

kia ora (greetings) Margit

It has indeed have been a while, I am now halfway through completing the fifth of five texts which we have been writing of the last two years. Over 1000 A4 pages later . . . We are almost there. The idea being to provide a complete framework for school version 2.0/classroom 2.0. The outline for the five texts are below along with their schedules.

We seem to have a systemic failure in the web site and the tech team who manage this are looking at that this morning. I will put in todays mail the PDF of the first text "Whatever: School Version 2.0" on a CD. Can you provide me with the mailing address for this. If it turns out to be quick fix the know what the muddy with the instructions to complete the download. All the best and if I am passing through I will call in! Much of our time is in Australia at the moment trying to work with them to sort out their education system as well as keeping the home fires burning. All the best with your work there.

I am currently developing a series of texts around the theme of “Whatever” and the disengagement of learners and the new requirements 21st century is placing on teaching and learning practices. The texts are:

1. Whatever!: School Version 2.0
The philosophical and theoretical framework which underpins the transformation to school version 2.0 (350pp 500 references 100 diagrams)
Status: completed and available from www.schoolv2.net

2. Whatever Next!: The Conceptual Curriculum
The global conceptual scaffold mapping the conceptual development of each of the competencies as well as each of the learning areas (320pp 80 references 30 diagrams)
Status: completed and available from www.schoolv2.net

3. Whatever!: Were We Thinking?
If we are to truly understand learning we need to understand how the mind works and how people think. This text provides that up to date review of our current knowledge of brain processes and the implications that this has for the development of teaching and learning practices (125pp 240 references 35 diagrams)
Status: completion date June 2009

4. Whatever After!: A Synopsis of Current Thinking
The philosophical and theoretical framework which underpins the transformation to school version 2.0 (50pp 120 references 40 diagrams)
Status: completed and will be available as an introduction to a multi-author production in conjunction with the University of Ohio available by year end 2009

5. Whatever!: Should Parents be Thinking?
A magazine style (25pp) approach to be given out to parents to explain the transformational changes that are taking place within schools.
Status: to be completed for the beginning of 2010

Hello Margit - Thanks for your invitation, and I would love to join you at a future workshop! Let's find a time to connect and I can walk you through the site. It would be great to share with Educators at your upcoming workshop. We launched a private beta yesterday and will launch our public release in February. The best way to reach me is on Skype. I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Best -

Hi Margit! Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get Hawaii students involved. Please let me know. Thanks!
