I am a (kind of) teacher, but not in the education system. Several years ago, I walked out (very dramatic.) on a well-paid job after 11 years because I couldn't put up with the new mediocre management. I hate bureaucracy and all the talking. I think it's much better to "give something a go", rather than endlessly talk about it.
To cut a long story short, I had to learn Microsoft Word (W4W at that time) fast to get another job. I learned from the manual and it was boring and tedious. I decided there had to be a better way to learn, a way where you quickly got the "Wow, I can do this" feeling and that was the start of my "teaching" career. Then, a neighbour asked me to teach her how to type and I came up with a method based on quirky association words to memorise the keyboard
For the past 8 years, I have sold my lateral-thinking tutorials online (I am a hopeless salesperson and love the fact that visitors can come and see what is on offer without me having to say a word!)
I am an Australian and have an Australian Terrier called Tommy the Terror. He's a very feisty 4-year-old who rules the roost and makes me laugh heaps. When I was younger, I travelled the world extensively with my twin sister (travelling by ship whenever we could - love shipboard life) and it was a great education. I hope to again one day. In the meantime, I love reading, walking and food

I think the subject just fizzled out. I hadn't been checking my discussion comments closely and so missed yours, but I think people don't stay with a topic too long. You should make a new title and repost it to get a new discussion going that will attract some fresh attention.
