Hi Allison, There's a great forum where users are creating these pens and posting their results. It's at http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ir-pens/. Some have found that it's easiest to find a pen that already has a white led light and to remove the light and resolder an IR led onto it. Others build the whole thing from scratch. If I was doing it again I would buy a premade pen and swap the LED because the housing can be an issue if you use a battery pack.
